This Privacy Policy explains how Voxwarm ("Voxwarm", "the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with your use of the Voxwarm iOS application (bundle identifier xyz.bogtsi.voxwarm). Voxwarm is developed and operated by an individual developer based in Israel (the "Developer").

The short version. Voxwarm listens to you sing so it can show you the note you're hitting — and that is all it ever does with your microphone. Your voice is analysed in memory, in real time, on your device, and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere. Everything else Voxwarm remembers about you — your vocal range, your practice history, your streak, your settings — also lives only on your iPhone, in a local, on-device store. There are no user accounts, no login, and no backend server operated by us. We run no analytics and show no ads. The only third party that processes your subscription is RevenueCat, if you choose to buy one; the complete list of third parties involved in distributing and billing the app — Apple and Expo/EAS — is in the table further down.

1. Who we are & how to contact us

Voxwarm is operated by a solo developer based in Israel. For any privacy question or request, contact us at support@bogtsi.xyz.

2. The microphone: analysed in memory, never recorded

Voxwarm's core feature is real-time pitch feedback: while you sing your turn in a warm-up exercise, the app listens through your device's microphone and shows you, live, how close your note is to the target. To do this:

Audio from the microphone is processed entirely in memory, in real time, using on-device signal processing (pitch detection) — nothing more than the numbers this analysis produces (a note, a frequency, how close it is to the target) ever leaves that in-memory processing step.
Voxwarm does not record your voice. It does not save an audio file, a waveform, or a voice sample anywhere, at any point, for any reason.
Voxwarm does not transmit microphone audio anywhere — not to us (we operate no server to receive it), not to any third party, not for "improving the app," not for any other purpose.
The microphone is only ever open during the guided moments the app tells you it's listening (the "Your turn" window in a session, or the range-finder test) — see Section 8 for how the app keeps the piano and the microphone from overlapping.
The only thing that outlives that instant is the result you asked the app to remember: for example, if a session measures a new highest or lowest note, that single number (a note name, not audio) is saved to your on-device practice history, exactly the way a score or a streak count is.

This is, deliberately, the single most important fact in this document: your voice is heard by the app, momentarily, to draw a line on a screen — and then it is gone.

3. Data stored locally on your device

The following information is created and stored only on your device, in a local, on-device store inside the app's own sandbox. It is never transmitted to us — we operate no server to receive it — and we cannot access it:

Vocal range history — the lowest and highest comfortable notes Voxwarm has measured for you over time, and whether each measurement came from the guided range test, a session, or one you typed in by hand.
Practice history — a log of the warm-up sessions and exercises you've completed: which one, when, how accurate you were, and how many notes you attempted. No audio is stored alongside these entries — only the numbers described in Section 2.
Streaks, freezes and badges — how many days in a row you've practiced, and which practice milestones you've reached.
Settings — your chosen purpose (Singer / Speaker / Choir / Audition), reminder time, whether the precision cents readout and haptics are on, your ladder background, and your default tempo.

Because this data lives only on your device, it is removed when you delete the app. Voxwarm has no separate "clear my data" feature and needs none — there is nothing stored anywhere else to clear. We provide no cloud backup or sync of this information ourselves; if you use iCloud device backup, your device backup is governed by Apple's own policies, not by us.

4. Local notifications (the daily reminder)

If you turn on Voxwarm's daily reminder, the app schedules a single local notification on your device only, at the time you choose with the standard iOS time picker. It is generated and delivered entirely on-device. We use no push tokens, and Voxwarm sends no remote push notifications of any kind.

5. Exporting your data (CSV / JSON)

Voxwarm can export your practice history and vocal-range history as a CSV or JSON file, free for every user. When you tap Export, the app writes the file to its own temporary storage on your device and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet. Where the file goes next is entirely your choice — Files, Mail, another app — and that destination's own handling of the file is governed by whatever app or service you pick. The file is not sent anywhere by us.

6. Third-party services that process data

Voxwarm relies on a small number of third-party services. When you use the app, some of these services may collect or process data directly, under their own privacy policies. We map each one below.

We use no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs of our own (no Firebase, Sentry, Amplitude, or similar), and Voxwarm's own code makes no network requests to any server we operate.

Advertising & App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

Voxwarm contains no advertising and no advertising SDK. The app displays no ads, contains no third-party ad or tracking framework, and does not collect or use the advertising identifier (IDFA). Because nothing in the app tracks you, Voxwarm never presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If advertising were ever introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy would be updated before it shipped.

8. Microphone & piano playback — why the two never overlap

Voxwarm's guided warm-ups work call-and-response: the app plays a short piano phrase, then opens the microphone so you can sing it back, then closes the microphone again before the next phrase plays. iOS's own audio routing means that recording and speaker playback at the same time would let the app hear its own piano sound come back through the microphone — so, separately from the privacy commitments above, Voxwarm is built so that the microphone is never open while the piano is sounding. The iOS permission prompt describes this plainly: "Voxwarm uses the microphone to show you the note you are singing." That is the only thing it is used for.

9. How we use information

We ourselves do not collect or receive your personal data on any server. Information is used only for the purposes described above: providing app features on-device (pitch feedback, range tracking, session scoring, streaks, badges, reminders) and processing subscriptions. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

10. Data retention

Data stored locally on your device is retained until you delete the app. Data processed by third parties (RevenueCat, Apple) is retained according to their respective policies.

11. Your choices & controls

Microphone: Voxwarm cannot function without microphone access, since real-time pitch feedback is its core feature; you can revoke the permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Voxwarm, which will disable pitch feedback until you re-grant it.
Reminders: turn the daily reminder off in the app, or disable notifications for Voxwarm in iOS Settings.
Export your data: use the CSV or JSON export in Settings to take a copy of your practice and range history with you.
Delete your data: delete the app. Because everything Voxwarm stores lives only on your device, removing the app removes all of it.
Manage subscriptions: manage or cancel in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.

12. Children's privacy

Voxwarm is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, such as 16 under the GDPR). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. In line with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR's protections for children (GDPR-K), if you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at support@bogtsi.xyz and we will take appropriate steps.

13. International users

The Developer is based in Israel. Voxwarm is available through the Apple App Store internationally. The third-party services we use (RevenueCat, Apple) may process data in various countries, including the United States, in accordance with their own policies and legal safeguards. Your microphone audio, vocal-range, and practice data are not part of any such transfer — they never leave your device. By using the app, you understand that the limited subscription information described above may be processed in countries other than your own.

14. Security

Because your app data stays on your device, its security is tied to your device's own protections (passcode, encryption, biometric lock). Data handled by third-party services is protected under their respective security practices. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at this URL. Material changes will be reflected here; your continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
