Thaw · A frozen-shoulder recovery companion

Need help? Email support@bogtsi.xyz. Thaw is made by one person, so replies may take a few days — every message is read.

What Thaw does

Thaw walks with you through frozen-shoulder recovery, phase by phase. A short onboarding matches your symptoms to a phase (freezing, frozen, or thawing — a starting point, never a diagnosis), and the app then offers short guided exercise sessions a few times a day matched to that phase, a 30-second daily pain check-in, weekly self-measured range-of-motion tests, and progress charts built around "you vs 3 months ago" — because recovery is slow, and seeing the months-scale trend is what keeps hope up. Everything you log stays on your iPhone.

Common questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Thaw and tap Cancel — or use the Manage subscription link in Thaw's Settings, which takes you to the same place. You keep Premium until the end of the period you already paid for. If you're on the free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends or it converts to a paid subscription automatically. Refund requests also go through Apple — we cannot issue them.

I paid, but Premium isn't showing up

Tap Restore purchases in Thaw's Settings (or on the Premium screen). Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you purchased with, and that you have a working internet connection. If it still doesn't appear, email us with the date of purchase and we'll help.

Which phase should I pick? Can I change it?

The onboarding questions suggest the phase your symptoms most resemble — it's a starting point to review with your clinician, not a diagnosis. You can change your phase at any time in Thaw's Settings, and changing it never touches your logged history. If pain has been easing while stiffness dominates for a while, Premium's phase-check card may suggest reviewing your phase — it never switches anything by itself.

An exercise hurts. Should I push through?

No. The working rule throughout Thaw is tension, not pain — go to the point of gentle stretch and stop before sharp pain. Skip any exercise that causes sharp pain and mention it to your doctor or physiotherapist. And if you notice warning signs — shoulder trouble after an injury or fall (especially if you can't raise your arm), fever or unexplained weight loss, numbness or tingling in the arm or hand, or both shoulders suddenly affected at once — stop and see a doctor promptly.

My reminders aren't going off

Check that notifications are allowed for Thaw in iOS Settings → Notifications → Thaw, and that reminders are turned on inside Thaw's Settings. Thaw schedules all reminders locally on your device — session times, the daily check-in, and the weekly range check — so toggling reminders off and on again re-schedules everything cleanly. Quiet hours in Settings silence any reminder that would land inside the window you set.

How do I export my data?

Open Thaw's Settings and tap Export CSV or Export JSON — export is free for everyone. Thaw builds a file containing your check-ins, sessions, range-of-motion entries, streak, and settings, and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet — from there you can save it to Files, mail it to yourself, or open it elsewhere. The file isn't sent anywhere by us; where it goes is your choice.

How do I delete my data?

Delete the app. Everything Thaw stores — check-ins, session history, range-of-motion entries, streaks, badges, and settings — lives only on your device, so removing the app removes it all. If you'd like a copy first, use the free export. We can't recover deleted data, because it was never on any server of ours.

Does the app show ads?

No. Thaw contains no ads and no tracking.

Is Thaw medical advice?

No. Thaw is a general wellness companion. It doesn't diagnose anything — phase placement is symptom-matching to review with your clinician — and it complements, never replaces, professional care. The education articles cite their published sources so you and your clinician can check them. See our Terms of Service.
