Chervil · Effective date: August 19, 2026 · Last updated: August 19, 2026

Chervil (bundle identifier xyz.bogtsi.chervil) is made by Bogdan Tsiganiuk, an individual developer. Contact: bogdan.tsiganiyk@gmail.com.

The short version: Chervil has no account, no sign-in and no server of ours. Your recipes are yours — everything you save, type or import is stored on your device and never sent to us. We cannot see it, because it never leaves your phone except when you choose to share or export it.

What we collect

Nothing. Chervil does not collect, transmit or store any personal information on our systems. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter that carries your data, and no identifier for advertisers (IDFA). We do not ask for tracking permission because we do not track.

What stays on your device

All of it is written to your device's app storage. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

When data leaves your device, and only then

  1. You import a recipe from a link. When you paste or share a web address into Chervil, your device fetches that page directly — the same way a browser would. The request goes from your phone to that website; we run no server in between and receive nothing. What the website learns from the request (your IP address, for instance) is governed by that website's own privacy policy.
  2. You export or share. Exporting your recipes builds files on your device and hands them to the iOS share sheet. Where they go from there is your choice — Mail, Files, iCloud Drive, another app. We are not involved and we receive no copy. Export is free and always will be.
  3. iCloud device backup. If you have iCloud Backup switched on in iOS Settings, your device's backup includes this app's data, the same as any other app. That is Apple's service under Apple's terms, not ours. Chervil does not implement its own cloud sync.
  4. A purchase. Purchases are handled by Apple and by RevenueCat, which manages subscription state for us. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user identifier and the purchase receipt so it can tell the app whether Chervil Pro is active. It does not receive your recipes, your lists, or anything you typed into the app. RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

That is the complete list. There is no other network call in the app.

Notifications

Cook-mode timers use local notifications, scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. Nothing about them is sent anywhere. You can decline notification permission and the in-app timers still work.

Children

Chervil is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export or delete on request. To delete everything, delete the app. To take everything with you, use Settings → Export — it produces open, readable files, and it works on the free tier too.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the version in the app's Settings → Legal links to the current one.
