Chervil is made by Bogdan Tsiganiuk. Contact: bogdan.tsiganiyk@gmail.com. By using Chervil you agree to these terms.
Chervil is a personal recipe keeper: it saves recipes you type, paste or import from a link; scales and converts their quantities; builds shopping lists from them; plans your week; and walks you through cooking. It is a private notebook, not a publishing platform — nothing you save in it is shared with anyone unless you export it yourself.
When you import a recipe from a website, Chervil fetches the page you asked for and keeps a structured copy for your personal use, along with a link to the source. Recipes' ingredient lists are generally not protected by copyright, but creative text and photographs can be. You are responsible for how you use what you save — keep imports for your own cooking, credit sources when you share, and respect the terms of the sites you import from.
Chervil's importer reads recipe pages and pasted text and turns them into structured recipes. It flags what it could not confidently parse and shows you everything for review before saving — but it can still get quantities, units or steps wrong, and scaling or unit conversion of a wrongly-parsed quantity produces a wrong result. Check the recipe before you shop or cook from it, especially anything that matters for allergies or dietary needs. Chervil does not provide nutritional, dietary or medical information of any kind.
Your recipes live on your device. We do not receive them. See the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for your own backups. Use Settings → Export — it is free on every tier, it produces open readable files, and it always will. If you lose or reset your device without a backup, the recipes are gone and we cannot recover them.
The free tier includes up to 25 recipes with full import, scaling, cook mode and a single-recipe shopping list. Chervil Pro unlocks unlimited recipes, the week planner, and combining several recipes into one shopping list.
Pro is sold as a monthly or an annual subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings after purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies, not by us. There is no trial that converts silently into a charge — you buy Pro when you decide to, not before.
Do not use Chervil's importer to bulk-copy someone else's recipe collection for republication, and do not use the app in any way that violates the law or the rights of others.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chervil is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of it — including any outcome of cooking from a recipe it stored, scaled, converted or parsed. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
