Wageproof is a calculator and a record-keeping tool. It works out an estimate of what hours are worth under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and, where you select one, the overtime rules of California, Alaska, Nevada or Colorado, and it compares that estimate to a paystub figure you type in yourself.
The app says this on every result screen, and it is repeated here because it is the most important limit on the numbers it produces. Wageproof does not model:
A week that involves any of those will produce a figure that is incomplete. Check every result against your own pay records.
Wage and hour law changes, and minimum-wage figures change on published schedules. On every export the app prints the date its minimum-wage table was assembled together with how many of the rates in that table have not been checked against their official source — the assembly date says when the table was last edited, not that every figure in it was verified on that day. Some of the figures have not been checked, the app says so in the app and on every export, and where a calculation actually used an unchecked figure it says so on that calculation. We work to keep the rules right, but we do not warrant that any figure the app produces is correct, complete or current, and you are responsible for checking it before relying on it for anything.
Your records live on your device. We do not receive them. See the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for your own backups. Use Settings → Backup & restore, and keep the file somewhere you can find it — if you lose or reset your device without a backup, the records are gone and we cannot recover them.
Some features — the state rulesets, multiple jobs, paystub checking and export — require Wageproof Pro. Federal overtime, split shifts, overnight shifts, and backup and restore are free and stay free.
Pro is sold as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings after purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies, not by us.
If Pro lapses, we never delete your data. Pro features stop being available; every shift, job and record you created stays exactly where it is and remains exportable.
Do not use Wageproof to fabricate a record. The app timestamps entries when they are made and keeps an append-only history of edits precisely so that a record means something; a record you falsify is worth nothing to you and may be worse than nothing.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wageproof is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of it — including any decision made, or not made, on the basis of a figure it produced. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
